Does Propps narrative theory exist in 'The Shining'

Most of the 'Preparation' part of Vladimir Propp's narrative theory links into the narrative structure of the film 'The shining' as the family move away from their home town, a rule of not going into room 237 is imposed on the hero which is eventually broken. However in the other sections such as the complications, Transference, struggle, return and recognition tend to become mixed up such as the seeker plans action against the villian is said to come first in the complications part and the hero recieves a magical agent happens next but ends up being the wrong way round because a magical agent is given right at the begining of the film by Hallorann who is head chief. Also there is no evidence of return and recognition as the it ends on the hero is defeated which for some reason is in the struggle section. So in my opinion Propps theory is evident in some parts of the film but is not necassarily apparant through out.
